Samsung Allegedly Launches New Note 10 in August

Rumor has it that Samsung plans on unveiling a new phone in August this year. Reports have cropped up that the South Korean company will showcase to the world its new Samsung Galaxy Note 10 on August 7, in New York City. Clearly, they won’t follow Google’s footsteps of unveiling its new phone releases by just tweeting them out. Instead, they will stick to the more traditional way of organizing an unveiling event. Although the company hasn’t gone public to confirm or deny these reports, the date (first week in August) seems about right for a new Note phone release.

Generally, Samsung uses Note phones as a platform for demonstrating its latest phone technology. People expect them to come out with two editions in two different sizes. One of them will have a 5G connection. Sadly, but rather expectedly, neither will come with a 3.5mm jack for headphones.

According to some of the render pictures leaked on the Internet, Samsung is pushing on creating phones without any bezels on it, both top and bottom. They will style the front-facing camera like a hole punch of the top part of the screen. As opposed to Galaxy S10, the camera will be in the middle of the phone.

The new Note device will also be quite a large one. The larger one will have a screen width of 6.75 inches, while the “smaller” one will come with a 6.3-inch diagonal. The back camera will have three lenses. But, going away from the standard of vertical alignment, they will line up horizontally.

What Does It Mean for Galaxy Fold?

The Unpacked event is expected to be “flashy,” and will probably take place in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, as it did before. The new Note release takes the focus away from the anticipated Samsung Galaxy Fold. Samsung fans don’t know what’s going to happen with the Fold phone — will they come up with a new release date or will they just scrap the idea and remove the concept? Hopefully, they will release a statement on the Galaxy Fold soon, as many suspect that this will affect the Note 10 release.

With the recent bans on Huawei’s devices in the United States, Samsung needs to come up with a phone that will fill in the gap left by the Chinese magnate. Seemingly, Note 10 is their answer to the situation on the market, and we’ll have to wait and see if it’s a good one.
